Every age has its own way of celebrating! For the littlest ones, the Smash the Cake celebrates the first candles in a joyful, colourful universe. For older children, the session evolves with decors and moods suited to their age and personality.
A first birthday calls for a celebration, but so do all the others!
The first birthday is a very special milestone, often the occasion for a lovely Smash the Cake session. But the following years also deserve their memories: the session simply evolves with your child’s age and personality.
At the studio, various accessories and decorative elements are available: balloons, banners and more. We define the mood in advance, according to the colours and the universe you would like.
For the littlest ones, the cake can then make its entrance. We let your child discover it, taste it and have fun at their own pace, making way for spontaneous images full of life.
How a session works
Preparing the decor
A week before the session, we define the universe you would like. Draw inspiration from my past creations or share your ideas with me. For a balloon arch, let me know in advance so I can plan the colours and the necessary accessories.
The day of the session
We create the portraits of your child and, for the littlest ones, the Smash the Cake. If you wish, a few photos with brothers and sisters or as a family can also be taken, on the decor or on a white background.
Choosing your images
About a week after the session, you receive access to your private online gallery. You can calmly discover all the images and select your 10 favourite photos among the different shots.
Your final photos
The 10 selected images are then carefully retouched one by one. They are delivered to you in high definition, in colour and black and white versions, ready to be kept, shared, printed and passed on through the years.

What is a Smash the Cake session?
The Smash the Cake is a photo session usually held for your child's 1st or 2nd birthday. At the end of the session, it is cake time, brought by the parents! The child is free to discover it their own way: touching it, plunging their hands in, tasting it, and very often getting it everywhere. A spontaneous, fun moment that creates photos full of life and expressions.
Which decor should we choose?
Many accessories are available at the studio: balloons, banners. We talk about it before the session to compose a harmonious setting.
Should we bring our own cake?
To avoid any risk of allergy, you choose and bring the cake: that way it perfectly matches your child's tastes and needs. The little secret of a great Smash the Cake: a cake as tall as possible and generously covered in cream, for your child to happily plunge their hands into.
Can we also take family photos?
Of course. After your child's portraits, and the Smash the Cake for the littlest ones, we can take a few photos as a family or with brothers and sisters, on the decor or on a white background.
At what age should we do this session?
The Smash the Cake session is particularly suited to the first years, usually between ages 1 and 3. For older children, the birthday session simply evolves with their age, with a decor and a mood adapted to their personality.
